GasaGasa is one of the remotest of districts in Bhutan and the last one to be connected by road. Lack of developmental activities surprisingly has helped Gasa retain its natural richness and this in turn has made Gasa a birdwatching, photography and trekking hotspot.

Places of interest:

  • Gasa Tashi Tongmon Dzong,was built in the 17th century by Desi Tenzin Drukdra as a first line of defense against foreign invasions. At present, the Dzong houses the administrative center and the monastic body of the Dzongkhag.
  • Gasa is famous for its Hot Springs. The hot springs besides rejuvenating the tired bodies is believed to have healing powers. Consequently, people from all over the country along with tourist frequents it.
